The only good Zelda is the first one, and it used sprites. I agree with Yahtzee's review of Phantom Hourglass. All you have to do to beat the game is tap a screen, they also made the sailing a lot more frustrating.
They if all this is true, it would make it a lot more frustrating. But it IS the first DS Zelda game, so I'd give them another shot.
Zelda games have been on a bit of a decline as of late, I'm noticing.
